Portfolio

College Equivalent Credit is given to students for selected work and life experiences that can be equated to college course work.  In a few areas standardized awards of credit have been determined for specific credentials earned by students, but in most cases students must write portfolios to earn their college equivalent credit.

Requesting credit for standardized awards and/or portfolios requires students to pay a portfolio fee .  The portfolio fee is charged every semester that a students requests a standardized award and/or submits portfolios.  Budget-conscious students submit all their portfolios and standardized award requests the same semester and pay only a single fee.

Students must have been admitted to WVU in order to submit portfolios or request standardized awards.  Portfolio credit can not be used to meet the residency requirement, but may be used to meet general education and upper division requirements.  Portfolio credit may not duplicate credit already on the student's transcript, and portfolio credit may not be transferred to or from another Regents institution
