The Regents Bachelor of Arts degree requires students to take a minimum of 36 hours of General Education course work. Specifically, the General Education requirement is comprised of the following:
Six hours of Humanities credit in areas such as literature, foreign languages, history, humanities, philosophy, religious studies and approved courses in Art, Music and Theater;
Six hours of Natural or Physical Science credits in areas such as astronomy, biology, chemistry, geology, physics, and physical science;
Three hours of approved Mathematics or Statistics or Computer Science credit ditionally,
Nine hours of electives from any of the above general education areas
The Regents BA degree requires students to take a minimum of 40 hours of Upper Division course work. Upper division courses are those offered at the Junior and Senior levels and are usually numbered as 300- or 400-level courses. (Prior to Fall 2001, WVU upper division courses have been numbered as 100- or 200-level courses) Upper division courses take the place of a major and may be taken in any subject area or a combination of areas as students wish. Residency
Students must complete a residency requirement of 24 hours of course work taken at one or more institutions within West Virginia's public higher education system.
Total Hours
Regents BA students must complete a minimum of 128 hours of credit to be eligible for graduation.
Grade Point Average
Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.00 (on a 4-point scale) to be eligible for graduation.
